Homecoming:

Our annual homecoming celebration continues at tonight’s football game located at the Pfield! Come join us at 7 pm for kickoff. The homecoming court will be announced at halftime and the band will perform after the game. Also, our varsity volleyball team competes at home in the PHS gym. It is a busy night! Unlike a normal game night, varsity volleyball will play first, followed by the freshmen & JV games.  This is done so that our varsity volleyball players can join the homecoming festivities at the Pfield.

If you want to purchase tickets to the football game, please use the link on the athletics portion of the PHS website. For your convenience, it can be found at this link: Athletics / Tickets 2021-22

As a reminder, here is a link to information shared in a prior blog about the expectations at the Pfield: Pfield Expectations - PHS Football Games

This document includes information about:

  1. Where to sit
  2. PHS Student expectations
  3. Tickets
  4. Clear Bag Policy
  5. Pfield Rules & Expectations - sound makers

Students: This night is going to be incredibly special to our students, our athletes and programs, and many of our parents and community members.

Unfortunately, there have been some issues at other football games this season (NOT PHS games), for other schools. Please remember to be respectful, kind, and cheer responsibly. It is always encouraged that any ideas/plans to celebrate in a unique way are discussed with campus admin prior to the game.

Consequences for violating Pfisd and Pfield rules and expectations could include campus consequences, ejection from the game and all future games, and even more serious consequences.

Sorry for sounding scary - but I want to be proactive in reminding you of what we expect of our Panthers so we do not make any of the poor choices students at other schools have made. Remember, what you do, say, and how you act in public and at events reflects our entire school. Think before you act, and be responsible.

Let's have some fun tonight!

(ACTION ITEM) Friday, October 8th, 2021 - Parent Contact Day:

As mentioned in last week’s blog, Oct. 8th is a staff PD day and student holiday. On this day, staff will be available to make parent phone calls. There is no obligation to sign up, but if you are interested in speaking directly with one of your child’s teachers, please use the sign up genius link below.

2021-22 PHS Parent Calls Sign Up Genius

This link will close at 10 am on Thursday, October 7th so we can provide the sign up list to teachers in preparation for Friday’s calls.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A small number of our teachers and staff are either going to be participating in other training/learning or out for that day for other reasons. If you do not see a teacher/staff you would like to schedule a call with, or if a particular teacher's sign up is full or the time you need is unavailable, please simply email that teacher/staff  to set up a date/time that works for both of you.

Monday, October 11th, 2021 - School Holiday:

Both students and staff will be off on Monday, October 11th. In addition, the front office and campus will be closed.

Thursday, October 7th - End of the 1st 9 -weeks:

It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of a 9 - weeks. Thursday is the last day and will mark another eligibility grain or loss snapshot. Students must be passing all of their classes to participate in their UIL activity. If they are failing any classes, their next chance to regain eligibility will be the next 3-week IPR.

Rescheduled Picture Day:

I want to start by sharing that we rescheduled picture day! Please mark your calendars for November 15th and November 16th as our picture days. Anyone who already placed orders for pictures with the company based on the original date, is good to go. More info to come for those who are interested in ordering pictures.

From our School Nurse

Please DO NOT send your student to school if you are waiting for the results of a Covid-19 test.  Wait until you get a NEGATIVE result and their symptoms have resolved!

Donna Bartko, PHS Nurse

Math Department

Juniors!  You will be taking the PSAT on Oct 13, this is an opportunity to get college information and possible scholarships!  You can find practice problems on College Board or Khan Academy.

Social Studies Department

Hello Panthers!

As we are getting ready to end the first 9 weeks please make checking Skyward a regular part of your school experience.  Zero’s are devastating to an average!  As teachers begin to take their last grades for the 9 weeks make sure you are aware of class deadlines to turn in late work.  Also, make sure if you have questions about retests or make-up opportunities you get those answered.  Being back on campus is great, but still a change from last year.  Make sure you are staying informed and connected to all your classes so your grades can be as high as possible!

Yearbooks

Last year’s yearbooks have arrived!  If you ordered a yearbook and have not come to the office to pick it up, please have your student do so during your lunch.  If you didn’t order a yearbook but would like to, please click on the link below: PHS Yearbooks
