Cougar Families,

We are on the downhill run. Only seven more weeks in this semester!

We continuing to follow all safety protocols and encourage students to social distance and to always wear masks.

Attendance is so important!  Whether your student is in-person or virtual, please ensure that he/she is attending classes daily and attendingevery period. If students are struggling, encourage them to attend tutorials with their teachers.  Every teacher is available to students for tutoring sessions. Students can access this information in Canvas and directly from the teachers during Zoom lessons. We want all students to succeed.

STAAR Testing

Important STAAR dates:

English 1 – April 27

English 2 – April 29

Make-ups for English April 28 and April 30

Algebra 1, Biology, US History – May 10

Students with multiple exams and make up May 11 – 14

WE encourage all students to participate in state assessments.

Graduation requirements for the state have not changed.  There is no waiver for STAAR testing ~ students must pass the five required state assessments to graduate.

High school and middle school students enrolled in high school courses are responsible for passing STAAR end-of-course (EOC) exams in Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II, and U.S. History as required by the state for high school graduation.

Students needing to take the STAAR assessment will recieve this letter from our testing coordinator, Mrs. Rachel Roepke.
