Colt Families,

Tomorrow will be our first whole-school event of the year and we are very excited to welcome parents to visit with your child's teacher and see the classrooms. Our school has grown considerably since last year, and parking will be limited. I strongly encourage carpooling with friends, family, and neighbors if at all possible.

Open House TOMORROW Thursday, Aug. 22

Parents are invited to visit classrooms between the hours of 6-8 p.m. this Thursday, Aug. 22. It is a come and go event to accommodate parent schedules. Parents may choose to visit in order of the child’s classes or drop in on a few teachers.

Volleyball Parent Meeting TOMORROW

Parents of volleyball students are asked to join the coaches from 5:00-5:30 p.m. in the gym to learn important information regarding this season. Questions may be directed to

Free and Reduced Price Lunch Applications

These need to be resubmitted every year. Students have 30 days grandfathered at last year’s status, but it is very important to complete this application soon. Follow this link:, if you are unsure as to whether or not you might qualify, feel free to call (512)-594-0430.

Bus Routes

We had tremendous improvement in departure times after one day, and I expect that to continue. As of yesterday, it seems our buses are on their way before our last car departs the car line. Our brand new buses are a safe, convenient, air-conditioned option available to every Cele student living within our attendance boundaries, and I strongly encourage all families to take advantage of this service if possible.

To find your bus stop and pick up or drop off times, go to this link: Bus Routes You will be able to enter your address and find the necessary information about your child’s bus route.  The routes are current. If you live on one of the Cele Community’s many brand new streets, you may not see your bus stop. If you experience this problem, please call us at 512-594-0450 and we’ll work it out together.

While the Number 1 best option is still “family time at the breakfast table”, that is often unrealistic. Our Café provides a free breakfast for every student. If breakfast at home doesn’t work for your family, please encourage your child to eat at school. We find that it is so much more difficult to learn when we are hungry. For information on menus, how to set up an online lunch account, and how to apply for reduced price or free lunch, visit

Robotics Team Recruitment!

We are looking for students who enjoy inventing, building, coding, problem solving, working on teams and having fun. LEGO Robotics experience is a plus, but no experience is needed. If your child is interested, our first meeting is Monday, Aug. 26 from 3:35-5 p.m. in Room 815 with Ms. Bring a friend!

See you Thursday!
