MacAllister named new Windermere principal

Feb. 18, 2022

Pflugerville ISD Superintendent Dr. Doug Killian announced the hire of the next principal of Windermere Elementary School during Thursday night’s Board meeting. With the hire, Jennifer MacAllister, the current Forest North Elementary assistant principal in Round Rock, returns to the district where she started her career in 2006.

MacAllister will begin her new role immediately, replacing Dr. Trenae Hill, who returned to the Houston area after serving Windermere well this school year.

MacAllister has been an assistant principal in Round Rock since 2015 at two different campuses, also serving in that role at Union Hill Elementary, which was a Spanish dual language campus. She has previous experience on dual language campuses as an administrative intern at PfISD’s Caldwell Elementary and an instructional coach at Dessau and Wieland. MacAllister also taught 3rd and 4th grades in PfISD at Dessau and Wieland.

Both campuses MacAllister worked at in Round Rock were Title I campuses, and she was instrumental in implementing a “Monday Mindset” program to start the week off on the right foot as well as enrichment clubs for students to explore learning in new ways or pursue hobbies.

“I am excited to be able to welcome an experienced administrator and educator like Jennifer back to Pflugerville,” Killian said. “She started her career here, and for it to come full circle to become a principal here has to be a point of pride for her. I can’t wait to see what she does leading the wonderful students and staff of Windermere.”

MacAllister earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies and teaching certification from Texas State University and has a master’s in education administration and principal certification from Lamar University.
