Pegasus

The Pegasus Program offers a high quality, caring, and affordable prekindergarten experience for eligible Pflugerville ISD families and community members. As an inclusive preschool program, Pegasus provides children with disabilities opportunities to learn and grow alongside typically developing peers.

The role of the peer model in the Pegasus program is to serve as a mentor and learning partner for children with disabilities. This inclusive classroom model benefits all students, and all children receive high quality preschool instruction in a structured and supportive learning environment.

Why Choose Pegasus for Your Child?

Convenient, Dependable Care

Pegasus is open to children — or nieces, nephews, or grandchildren — of any PfISD staff member, guest educator, or Aramark employee. If spots are available, PfISD community members are welcome too! Pegasus is open each day the teacher is on contract, excluding the first two days and last day, from 7:00am until 5:15pm.  With locations at 14 PfISD campuses, you can choose the most convenient site for your commute.

Quality Kindergarten Preparation

Each Pegasus classroom is led by a certified teacher who plans all learning experiences on regular school days.  Each class is also staffed with highly qualified educational associates, one of whom will work with your child on critical foundational academic and social skills until 5:15 PM.

Pegasus follows the PfISD pre-kindergarten curriculum and Texas Pre-K Guidelines to ensure well-rounded, rigorous instruction throughout the year.  Instruction is differentiated based on individual needs and abilities.

All peer models are regularly assessed using the high-quality Assess, Monitor, Instruct (AIM) Frog Street assessment that is aligned with the Frog Street curriculum used in Pre-K classes.

Want your preschooler to begin learning a second language? Our Pegasus Program offers 3 dual language classrooms to jump- start their Spanish fluency.

Fun Activities for the Whole Child

Every day offers a fast-paced, immersive schedule of individual and cooperative centers, circle time, small group activities, music and movement, recess, and more!  Students practice both the academic skills necessary for Kindergarten success and equally-important social skills.

One daily snack is included in the cost of tuition.
